Richard Cassel has specialised in employment law for 17 years and heads the formidable and highly experienced employment team at Hatch Brenner. Originally from London, Richard studied Philosophy at the University of Warwick, and gained experience in a variety of industrial, retail and commercial activities before switching his attention to the law. He was admitted as a solicitor 1980, and has been a partner at Hatch Brenner since 1990. Richard was appointed as a part-time Employment Tribunal Judge in March 1993. He is a highly regarded advocate appearing in the Employment Tribunals on a regular basis, and less frequently in the Employment Appeal Tribunal. His clients include universities, large national organisations, major local businesses, solicitors and senior executives. His expertise in employment matters has been acknowledged in Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession and in the Legal 500 Guide to the Profession. Richard describes himself as a lover of “all things Italian”, and spends much of his leisure time in Italy.
