They are able to offer legal representation to children, parents, relatives and local authorities in care cases, child protection investigations and emergency applications, together with advice on parents’ and children’s rights. The department also advises and acts in adoption proceedings. The firm has a public funding franchise, and, in most care cases, legal aid is free to all parents and children.
