Alan is the managing partner of Hatch Brenner, and head of the private client and commercial property department. He was educated at Great Yarmouth Grammar School before completing a Law degree at the University of Liverpool in 1971, followed by his Law Society finals at Liverpool Polytechnic in 1972. Alan trained at Hatch & Hatch – now Hatch Brenner – and qualified in 1974. He became a partner in 1975, and has been managing partner since 2004.
He has a particular interest in commercial property, as well as in high-profile conveyancing, wills, tax and trust matters. He was president of the Norfolk & Norwich Incorporated Law Society from 2001-02, having previously been secretary of its property and private client committee from 1997-2001. He is also a former honorary vice-president of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
Alan enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, and golf – he was captain of Weston Park Golf Club in 2003.
